THE WORKFLOW
Regardless of the type of project, the scope of development is quite similar. Below is the general flow a client can expect of the process of developing a film. The workflow is divided into three sections, each featuring critical developmental points.
Pre-Production:
Development of Concept – discovery process of understanding client needs and formulating a vision for the project.
Bid/Quote – coming up with a budget after taking into consideration all production costs
Treatment – shot listing, arranging logistics, scouting locations, casting talent
Execution:
Filming – shooting the project as per the finalized treatment and shot list
Back up – preparing the file structure for editing or for delivery to client hired editing department.
Post prep – backing up all footage and addressing any specialized redundancy requirements.
Post-Production
Cutting – developing the sequence of relevant imagery and sounds for the film
Color grading – giving the film its overall feel and mood through establishing the color aesthetic.
Sound design – addressing any specialized audio needs of the production.
Delivery – exporting in required file types and uploading/mailing the final product.
